SkyCharts 2000By Ed Stewart These charts were prepared by visually scanning the Sky Atlas 2000 charts and manually cataloging the NGC, IC, and M objects in two hour of RA "swaths" from 90 degrees north Dec to -90 degrees Dec. This allows an observer to use a computer controlled telescope or a scope equipped with DSCs (Digital Setting Circles) to concentrate on a small area of the sky--thus conserving time and power wasted slewing large distances to the next object. Also makes a very convenient method of creating an observing session by simply getting out the SkyChart(s) that are in a good part of the sky at that point in time. To make your own set of charts, select this PDF (portable document file) version for
download to your desktop for printing from Adobe
Acrobat Reader, or it will load into your browser's window if you have set your preferences for PDFs to be handled
by the PDFViewer plug-in. In which case, you can then print from the browser's window. Any comments or questions, please e-mail me: |
